Restrukturierungspartner exclusively advise on self-administration: Zech Group takes over Wefers Gebäudetechnik
Berlin, 10.04.2018. The search for an investor for the insolvent Wefers Gebäudetechnik GmbH was successfully completed extremely quickly: Less than two months after the start of the investor process, which Restrukturierungspartner accompanied exclusively as M&A consultants, Zech Group GmbH took over the family business with its 150 employees.
At the end of January 2018, Wefers Gebäudetechnik GmbH, planner and installer of technical building systems, in particular heating, plumbing, cooling and ventilation, filed for insolvency under self- management in accordance with § 270a InsO. The competent local court in Cologne appointed Dr. Michael Jaffé (JAFFÉ Rechtsanwälte Insolvenzverwalter) as provisional administrator, who was appointed administrator when the proceedings were opened on 19 March.
As an important step in order to position the company financially stable for the future, the self-administration set up an investor process, which was managed by partners of the law firm GÖRG Rechtsanwälte Partnerschaft mbB in a managing function. Locally reinforced by Dr. Jörg Bornheimer the GÖRG team of Dr. Thorsten Bieg and Dr. Gerrit Hölzle, who have been proven in operational support of self-administrations, was exclusively advised by the experts of the Restrukturierungspartner management consultancy in the distressed M&A process. Together with the company's self-administration the team around Dr. Stefan Weniger has held talks with various investors in the last few weeks. In the end, Zech Group GmbH was able to assert itself in the investor process. The parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The signing already took place in mid-March. After the cartel office had approved the sale last week, the closing has now been completed.
