Restrukturierungspartner awarded by WirtschaftsWoche

The Restrukturierungspartner were honoured with one of the coveted "Best of Consulting Mittelstand 2019" award from the WirtschaftsWoche. The business magazine awarded the management consultancy with the certificate "Prized" in the category "Operations" within the project focus "Restructuring" for the successful restructuring of the largest German Dunkin' Donuts franchisee.

ERSTELLT AM 4. December 2019

'We are very pleased about this award because it confirms the high quality of our consulting services. In addition to our dedicated team, however, there were many other project participants who made the restructuring possible and a success, in first place through their trusting cooperation', explain Burkhard Jung and Dr. Robert Tobias, both managing directors of Restrukturierungspartner and responsible for the project.

Award-winning project

As the largest franchisee of Dunkin' Donuts, the customer operated a total of 32 branches in North Rhine-Westphalia and Berlin with two companies. As part of regular insolvency proceedings, Restrukturierungspartner, in close cooperation with the insolvency administrator Dr. Christoph Schulte-Kaubrügger (White & Case) made use of the restructuring instruments of the insolvency law, in order to ensure the sustained profitability of the two companies and to safeguard jobs.

At the same time, Restrukturierungspartner were looking for a buyer for the restructured companies in a structured M&A process so that the investment backlog could be cleared and the branches could be restructured in a timely manner. In complex purchase contract negotiations, a signing with the largest Dunkin' Donuts franchisee of Saudi Arabia (Shahia Food) took place within four months. The restructuring was completed after a total of seven months. In order to gain the necessary time for the purchase contract negotiations, Restrukturierungspartner had first initiated measures to secure liquidity so that business operations could be continued in parallel.

After implementation of the restructuring measures, including the introduction of a controlled ordering system and sales controlling by Restrukturierungspartner, the investor found an ongoing business with the branch network of his choice. The investor Shahia Food was thus able to concentrate fully on modernising the stores and increasing quality and customer satisfaction in order to ensure the sustainable competitiveness of the locations. Due to the preservation of the infrastructure in rental agreements, considerable goodwill could be negotiated, whereby the best possible creditor satisfaction for the insolvency proceedings was achieved.
