RSP and Brinkmann & Partner reorganize specialist clinic Waldeck

Yesterday, the specialist clinic Waldeck filed an application for protective shield proceedings with the District Court of Rostock to undergo fundamental restructuring and reposition itself for the future. This has become necessary due to various legal requirements; the specialist clinic can no longer be operated in its current form to cover its costs. Another major cause is the Corona pandemic, which has led to significantly lower occupancy rates and considerable revenue losses.

A new management team has been appointed at the specialist clinic in Waldeck for the duration of the restructuring. The new managing director is Burkhard Jung, one of Germany's leading restructuring experts and managing director of the management consultancy Restrukturierungspartner. He is assisted by the experienced hospital manager Dietmar Eine. The Local Court of Rostock appointed attorney Dr. Christoph Morgen of Brinkmann & Partner as provisional administrator, who will monitor the proceedings in the interests of the creditors in a similar way to a supervisory board.

All services provided by specialist clinic Waldeck, in particular inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services, will continue to be provided in full as usual during the restructuring process. The wages and salaries of all around 300 employees have been secured by the Federal Employment Agency until the end of July.

With the involvement of the employee representatives and under the supervision of the provisional administrator the management will now draw up a restructuring plan with suitable restructuring measures in close consultation with the creditors. This is to be completed before the end of the summer.
