Initial situation

Sport Voswinkel GmbH & Co. KG, based in Dortmund, was a sports retailer with over 80 shops in Germany, mainly in North Rhine-Westphalia. Declining customer frequencies in shopping centres and rental agreements unadapted to the circumstances, left many of these were unprofitable. As a result, the company was struggling with falling sales and high losses.

In order to find a suitable investor for the business operations, the management of Voswinkel GmbH & Co. KG commissioned Restrukturierungspartner to conduct a structured bidding process with the consent of the preliminary custodian Dr Schulte-Kaubrügger.

Services

As part of an M&A process lasting just under two months, Sport Voswinkel GmbH & Co. KG was restructured through an insolvency plan solution of the previous shareholder Intersport e.G. so that 51 shops could be continued.

Restrukturierungspartner were responsible for coordinating the entire transaction process. This included, among other things:
